BS GIRLS.

I haven't figured out how to rotate the photo yet but hopefully you get the point. Every Tuesday night I host a Beth Moore Bible Study at my home- gifts of the Spirit, I think it's called, and love it. Last night I tapped into my able-bodied friends at the conclusion of our study to help me hang the flag I just purchased from the Hope College book store and reinstall the pole my mom just painted.
The story behind the Calvin/Hope flag is for another entry- Thanks, Amy and Heather for your help, the flag is flying today and I love it! I

spring has sprung!

These are my buddies. The Hofland boys. This is not just a pose for the camera, this is how we (yes, all 5 of us) get around when we are out and about.
After I invited myself over for lunch this past sunday, we spent the day "strolling" downtown. One conversation I had was with their youngest, Grant, who asked me why I had curly hair. I stopped asking the "whys" along time ago.

entertaining.

Every time this photo scrolls across my computer screen it makes me laugh. On many occasions during my time of "work", I have been uninspired, not challenged and quite bored. One of my co-workers and I made the best of these times with photos I would send her and her skills with paint pad. After she would create a master piece she would email it to me for a title.
What would you title this one?

it's my breaking point.

My maundy Thursday is turning out to be a strange one. I could wallow in pity and discouragement but I will prevail with God's strenght as I reflect on the hell He went through this week for me. And rejoice because He is alive!!
Last night after spending the evening at the church for tonights service, I was determined to set up a cute lamp in my kitchen to test if I would be happy with it. I could not find my scissors to open the box wrapped in 20 layers of packaging tape so I opted for a rather sharp knife...you know where this is going...
Keep in mind that I have not had running water since saturday due to a major plumbing issue (the joys of owning a home) and not having a colon and a tub that doesn't work- it's not pretty. (nor do I smell pretty) Frantically opening the tape on the light I gouged open my pointy finger instead. I have a high tolerance to pain and this stung a bit (still does). Blood is gushing out and my band aids are in the non-working, toxic, non-accessible stinky bathroom. "I can do this". (self-talk works for me) Attempting to retrieve the box, with one arm in the air and one arm maintaining what little balance I have, I fell. By the toilet. Now I start dry heaving and slide over to the band aids on my butt...I wrap my finger tightly with three band aids and attempt to pull my weak body in the standing position. (don't forget I am about to throw up) Needless to say, not sure how the lamp looks- it's still dismantled on my counter next to that darn knife.
My maundy Thursday is going to spent in a hotel room after the church service tonight. I think I'll sit in the balcony- hopefully they won't smell me from there.

is it 5 yet?

My new flooring is being laid right now. I can't wait to see it. This is a blast.

PD.

I love looking at this photo. It brings me back to my junior year in highschool. A time in my life when I began asking the tough questions. Seventeen years of catholicism and being a "good" girl led me to an encounter with this man, PD. My life would never be the same. PD believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. He introduced me to this man that made my life worth living and dying. He showed me how to love Him and not be afraid of Him. PD helped me to strive to know Jesus better and better each day. For that, I am forever grateful. Forever changed.

a dog magnet.

If only I were a guy magnet...yes, it's true- I am the dog lady. This was taken at one of my favorite spots to visit in warmer climate- the dog park.

Delsie, on the other hand, is rather anti- social. Although, in this moment she remained at my left side as I was bombarded by all the dogs in the park.

I am completely infactuated with Ceasar Mullan, the Dog Whisperer. I love everything about him and his knowledge of the behavior of dogs. I do mean, LOVE HIM.

It remains to be true that my love for dogs at the moment seems to outweigh my love for humans. I know, there is a theological debate to be had in that statement. But for now, I am as much devoted to my Delsiemeister as she is to me.

I am proud to be the dog lady.
